Solid Six Foot Waves on Offer for Globe Pro Fiji Finale Today

TAVARUA, Fiji (Tuesday, June 3, 2008) – A 2008 Globe Pro Fiji Champion will earn his crown at Cloudbreak today. Only seven heats of ASP action stand between the eight remaining contenders and today’s ultimate champion.

Conditions at Cloudbreak are a solid six feet (two metre) and event organizers are aiming for a 7:15am start.

Only two of the eight remaining surfers have earned top honors in Fiji before – eight-time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater and 2001 ASP World Champion C.J. Hobgood.

Adriano de Souza is the only surfer still in contention who has yet to feature in an ASP World Tour final.

The first heat of the day will pit top Australian surfers Bede Durbidge and Taj Burrow against each other in Quarterfinal 1.
