Bio

Andy Irons will go down in history as a crowd-pleasing machine and after less than three decades on this earth, he's already a legend beyond his native Kauai. Raised on the shallow reefs of Kauai's Hanalei Bay, Irons' skills in the water were every bit as fierce as his famed North Shore, O'ahu equivalents. As much at ease getting barreled as he is riding deep ocean swells and small beachbreaks, Irons is a world-class leader in the pro surfing ranks. While he may have struggled after turning pro in 1998, Irons' hunger for victory led him to win three consecutive ASP World Titles, four Vans Triple Crown Awards and an army of impressed fans the world over. If ever there was an athlete tailor made for athletic stardom, physically and mentally, it is Irons.

Both aggressive (in 2005, Irons pushed then ASP World Champion Kelly Slater to the brink in a duel of savage rivalry that has become surf folklore) and innovative (he landed one of the biggest airs ever seen in competition at the 2005 Rip Curl Search event), he's known for always going huge and pulling off the unimaginable. It doesn't look like the Irons' dynasty will come to an end anytime soon, as ASP World Title No. 4 is well within his reach.
