Pancho Sullivan feels most at home free surfing Hawaii's powerful reefs. A Haena, Kauai native, born in a tree house on a hippie commune, Sullivan discovered surfing at the age of five. He grew up honing his undeniable talent, but ultimately doubted the ability to make a living out of it. Just before he set off for college in 1992, he found himself on Sunset Beach during a pro event and entered it on the spot. After making it through eight rounds of competition and earning $1,800, the course of his life was forever altered.

However, rather than traveling around the world battling with the pro point system, this non-conformist developed his own surf style that includes a search for bone-crushing, powerful waves similar to the ones he was raised on. The oldest rookie ever to get his start on the ASP World Tour at 33-years-old, a family man at heart and quite possibly the nicest guy on Tour has experienced solid success in his two years at the top level of competition. Look for him to continue to detonate lips around the world in '08.
